POSITION
LEAP is seeking a Professional Learning Manager to join our growing programs team. We offer a portfolio of professional learning programs to support the implementation of personalized learning in classrooms and schools across metropolitan Chicago. The Manager holds primary responsibility for developing session designs, supporting materials, and facilitation of professional learning sessions on personalized learning for principals and teachers participating in LEAP’s core programs.

RESPONSIBILTIES

Professional Learning Design and Implementation - School Teams

  • Support the design and facilitation of LEAP’s personalized learning curriculum for school teams in LEAP’s program for practicing educators (e.g. CPS Elevate and Pilot Network)
  • Create and refresh curricular materials, including facilitator guides, participant handouts and artifacts for school teams in LEAP’s programs (e.g. CPS Elevate and Pilot Network)
  • Identify potential needs and uses for a team of local “coaches” – practitioners who are experienced with personalized learning implementation at the classroom and school levels
  • Utilize session survey data to track and monitor participant satisfaction with professional learning

Professional Learning Design and Implementation - Individual Educators

  • Support the development and facilitation of a personalized learning curriculum that takes individual educators from an introduction to personalized learning to implementation in their classrooms
  • Support the development of educator communities of practice to adopt, deepen and scale personalized learning across the region.
  • Support the design and facilitation of a personalized learning curriculum for pre-service educators
  • Create and refresh curricular materials, such as facilitator guides, participant handouts and artifacts for educators
  • Utilize session survey data to track and monitor participant satisfaction with professional learning

Relationship to Other Roles
The Professional Learning Manager will work closely with the Director of Professional Learning, as well as several cross-functional teams across the organization. In addition, the Manager will be expected to collaborate with the Director of Learning Innovation, Research, Communications/Marketing and Development staff in executing duties for the organization.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years experience in education
  • Bachelor’s degree in education, Master’s Degree preferred
  • Experience developing and implementing professional learning training
  • Experience engaging/coaching teachers and/or principals preferred
  • Knowledge of personalized learning; experience implementing it at the class or school level preferred
  • Experience developing curriculum and related materials and tools
  • Experience analyzing student and school level data and fluency with common education metrics (NWEA MAP, DIBELS, ACT, etc)
  • Excellent interpersonal and networking skills with proven ability to develop and maintain effective business relationships
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills
  • Excellent presentation and writing skills
  • Ability to work independently and with a team
  • Ability to articulate ideas in a group setting
  • Ability to travel locally and nationally, as necessary
  • Self-starter with strong work ethic and track record of success
  • Passion for education, specifically improving learning outcomes for all students through innovation
